· Visible License Law
Effective July 1, 2004 all craftsmen licensed by Oregon Building Codes Division are required to visibly wear or display their license while performing work for which a license is required. The sole exception to this requirement is when wearing the license would constitute a danger to either the licensed individual or to the public.

· Class Fees Waived
John Endicott directed the Training Center to waive all class registration fees effective Monday, October 20, 2003. Members must continue to pay for any required books, exam and certification fees. John believes that this policy is in the best interest of Local 290 members in light of the the current economic conditions. He hopes all members will take advantage of this fee waiver by registering for more classes than they normally do.

Washington Electrical License Blue Light Specials

If you are short on continuing education hours for your Washington Electrical License we now offer enough classes to fulfill the 24 hour requirement.  Here are Blue Light Specials that are not in the Training Center bulletin.

HVAC Calculations     4 hrs credit   

5:30-9:30  3/23/2010  or   4/06/2010

Electrical Calculations & Formulas      8 hrs credit

DOWNHILL WELDING CLASS

Starting Wenseday February 10th at 8 AM we will be having downhill welding class at the training center. Size is limited to 6 welders and 8 helpers. Call to sign up or be on a waiting list.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

The Blood Mobile will be in Tualatin February 27, 2010 for The Donald Dunn Memorial Safety Seminar.   They will be collecting from 8am - 1pm.   Please help us meet or exceed our goal of 30 pints of blood that day.

Salem Weld Shop

The Salem Saturday Weld Shop will be closed for the Holidays and until further notice. The Tualatin weld shop will remain open after the holidays to serve your needs. Aprentice weld classes in Salem will continue as scheduled.

Alaksa License Preparation Class

We will schedule additional license preparation classes as needed, if you wish to take this class please call the training center and have your name put on a waiting list we will run the class as soon as we have sufficient demand.

Apprentice Aplications

Due to the current economic conditions, we will not be accepting applications until at least July 1, 2010.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

The Training Center and the parking lots are now under video surveillance.
